Are You Watching the Winter Olympics This Year?

And we’re off! The 2026 Winter Olympics are now officially underway.

Hosted by the northern Italian cities of Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the international competition will be running from Feb. 6 to 22, 2026. It’ll be the fourth time the European country has hosted the Olympics.

Canada, which hosted the winter games in 1988 and in 2010, is often a top contender for crowd-drawing events like hockey, figure skating and curling, and is usually projected to end the competition with a high medal tally (It ended with an unbeaten record of 14 gold medals at the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics).

This year’s winter Olympics will be interesting to watch (or not watch) in the context of climate change’s effects on snow in host cities and increasingly tense geopolitics.

With this in mind, we want to ask:

Are you watching the winter Olympics this year?
