There’s been much buzz about the Alberta NDP’s leadership race since former Calgary mayor and newly joined NDP member Naheed Nenshi entered the race.
He’s vying to replace long-time leader and former premier Rachel Notley, who announced she was stepping down in January, and he’s already getting attention from members of the governing United Conservative Party.
A March Leger poll suggests he might have favourable support — 40 per cent of those surveyed “would be more likely to vote for the Alberta NDP if Naheed Nenshi were to win the leadership race.”
Still, he’ll have to muscle past a stacked field of candidates that includes Calgary-Mountain View MLA Kathleen Ganley, Edmonton-Whitemud MLA Rakhi Pancholi, Edmonton-Glenora MLA Sarah Hoffman, Edmonton-Rutherford MLA Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse and Alberta Federation of Labour leader Gil McGowan.
With all this in mind, we want to ask:
Do you think Naheed Nenshi will win the Alberta NDP leadership race?
