Premier Christy Clark will return to the legislature, winning the Westside-Kelowna seat in today's byelection with 62.7 per cent of the vote, with all ballot boxes reporting.
Runner-up BC NDP candidate Carole Gordon earned 29.66 per cent, and third place candidate, BC Conservative Sean Upshaw, earned 5.81 per cent. Eight candidates vied for the seat.
Westside-Kelowna residents elected Ben Stewart in the May 14 general election. He resigned on June 11 to make room in the relatively safe BC Liberal seat for Clark, who despite the Liberal victory lost her own constituency in Vancouver-Point Grey.
